Half-Day Seminar

Seminar Description

This workshop will present definitions of productivity indices and how they are computed. This is followed by productivity diagnostics (what have you done right or wrong) and common strategies for productivity improvement. Some insights on how these strategies evolved into programmes such as Lean and Six Sigma as well as how these programmes could be dovetailed with efforts towards industry 4.0 will also be discussed. 

Learning Objectives

This seminar aims at imparting to the participants various definitions and interpretations of productivity as well as common strategies useful for improving productivity in both manufacturing and service industries.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this introductory seminar, participants will be aware of different definitions of productivity and useful approaches for improving productivity.

Pre-requisite

Nil. Some prior knowledge of data analysis is useful but not essential.
